Default The Day That Changed Guild Wars Forever

April 19th, 2008 is coming, but look back as to why I consider 4/19/2007 to be the day that changed GW.

The Dawn of Hard Mode

In about a month and a few days, it'll be the one year anniversary of when Hard Mode was introduced.

Should this day be important enough to be considered weekend event or be in a sense of "game holiday" status?

I would argue that the day Factions was introduced was the day the GW changed forever, but that is just me.

They'll put in a double vanquisher weekend...or double HM rewards...whoopie.

And, I dont want a harder mode. I just finished the first hard mode.

I'm for Hell mode..

Hell mode is Hard Mode but if your character dies it's deleted forever.

No.

We didn't have an anniversary for Factions, Nightfall, Sorrow's Furnace, greenies, Hero Battles, etc.

Why would this be any different?

I think the moment ANet came up with Factions and a multi-campaign idea is when GW was forever broken. Everything was at its best back in the Prophecies days: whilst Factions and NF provided some positive new changes to GW, it mostly just broke the game.

ANet should have remained with Tyria and added expansions/big patches like Sorrow's Furnace.

It'll probably be some drop rate increase in HM - let's break the economy even more! WOO!

So, 5 years before launch?

Multiple campaigns were the core concept around which GW was designed, and in part why it was designed in the first place.

Feels like it was yesterday.

I don't know about a weekend event or whatever for it though.

Most of an event I could see out of it is a community one, where people have gather-ups to go vanquish and stuff, doesn't sound fun though.

Sweet baby Jesus!
We should celebrate it!
That was the day that they completely shattered our hopes that they actually have a clue about PvE design.

I think they should make a weekend where all players and their heroes have 1/3 health, but henchies get 3 times as much.

I think Factions changed GW. Speaking of which, I think we should build a fence along the Kryta shoreline. These Canthans are coming over and stealing all our loot and abusing the monk system.
